Why Microchip your pet?
It is the simplest and quickest way to reunite you with your pet should they go missing or are stolen. Your vet will implant a tiny chip and you will be required to give details to be registered alongside your pets unique chip number. There are a lot of animals who can be microchipped, commonly dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, ferrets and birds. However, if your veterinary practice will microchip any other species, we will happily contribute to the cost.
All you have to do thereafter is
- Keep your details up to date – if you move address or change phone number/email let the chip company know.
- Have your pets chip checked regularly, the ideal time is when they are annually vaccinated or vet checked.
We know how distressing it is when your pet goes missing. However, knowing they can be identified easily notably increases the chance of them being home sooner rather than later.
How do I apply
Firstly, check you live in our branch area. That is our only criteria as sadly we can’t fund assistance for those living further afield. Your local RSPCA may be able to help.
If you live within our branch, simply fill in the form and we will issue a £10 money off voucher to use at your vets. We will need to know which veterinary practice you are attending.
You have 2 options on how you receive the voucher:
PRINTABLE VERSION:
This is quickest way to get your voucher. You request will be processed within a couple of working days. You MUST be able to print the voucher as you will need to hand a physical copy to the vet for them to invoice us.
BY POST:
If you are unable to print a voucher, we can send one to you. This can take up to 3 weeks after application.
Our aim is to assist as many people as possible who qualify and ultimately help pets to be returned home as soon as possible.
The good news is, if you live in our branch area, we can help with a voucher towards the cost at your vets.
