Everyone meet Pye and Sal or to give them their full names – Pyewacket and Salem! These 2 cats are absolutely adorable and we’ve totally fallen in love with them.  They came into our care via an Animal Welfare Officer after their owner sadly passed away.  They were loved but did not have the best living environment and although shy, were friendly when Officer Karen collected them.

It’s nearly spooky season so their names seem very appropriate but the best thing about Pye (black female) and Sal (B/W male) is how they have taken everything in their stride.  When they first visited us here at the office they hid behind our scratch post but soon they realised ‘actually this place is OK!’ Sal will happily roll on his back and show you his belly…which is ample…he’s a heavy boy!  Pye on the other hand will cuddle into you on the sofa and supervise your activity! Black and white and black cats are always harder to rehome BUT these 2 have the best personalities, affectionate and well…as their names suggest…have a little bit of magic!

A bit more about Pye and Sal & the home they want.

We are looking for a home where Pye and Sal will stay together.  We’ve no real back history for them but we think due to the traumatic time they had losing their owner, they’d be best as only pets.
They will need to be introduced to your home room by room as they will hide and Pye especially is great a hiding!
We would like the cats to be able to have safe access to outdoors to explore after they have settled.  This may be supervised, via a cat flap or through a catio. We don’t rehome to properties very near or on major roads, train or tram lines unless the cat is indoors for reasons such as being deaf or blind or they have always been an indoor cat.

Pye & Sal and family – We have no idea if the cats have ever been around children so we are cautiously saying calm kids over 12 years may be OK but please remember our adoption times.  We know it’s hard for school age children to visit so therefore a rehoming centre with longer opening hours may be better for families.

About adoption – Important bits, we are not a rehoming centre so please read the following.

Adoption is by appointment only.

We don’t have animals on premises here, Pye and Sal will be brought to meet you by prior appointment.

You need to have access to a vehicle to visit us twice, once to meet and greet, the other to adopt. This is particularly important if you are travelling any distance.

Adoption appointments are made between 11am and 2pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday. Sorry but we can’t do evenings or weekends.

Due to not having animal holding on premises, we have to schedule the logistics of adoption appointments, hence the somewhat strict sounding procedure.  This can prove problematic when school age children are involved as our process is quite restrictive time wise.

Our priority is securing the right home for Pye and Sal.

Applications are received and we will go with the first application to meet the cats needs. If you are not successful regarding adoption it’s no slight, we can only choose one home.

Fill in the form below to express your interest and our rehoming coordinator will be in touch.
