We are looking to add to our board of trust, could you be one of our next committee members?
What you will be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in an engaging, decision making role for a charity that is at the heart of animal welfare in Nottingham. We are looking for committed individuals who have time to devote to this role. Our Trustees meet every 6 weeks virtually (occasionally in person at our office) to discuss planning, financial stability and projects for this branch. Meetings normally last 2 to 3 hours however, some input outside of the committee meetings is required.
There is a considerable amount of responsibility held within this role which is shared with fellow trustees. RSPCA Nottingham and Notts Branch is an active, separately registered charity working under the umbrella of the national RSPCA.
We employ a manager and several staff who deal with the operational day to day running of of the branch. Staff work closely with colleagues from other parts of the RSPCA including Inspectors, Officers and the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre.
We are responsible for the welfare and veterinary needs of vulnerable animals living in our area. The majority of these come into our care via Inspectors and ARO’s. As a Trustee, you would be involved in financial planning, project management and general overseeing of the Nottingham and Notts branch.
What we are looking for?
A background in business or a professional/academic career is always helpful. However, most importantly we are looking for people who have time to give. Life experience is invaluable. You must be a member of the RSPCA England and Wales.
What difference will you make?
Being a self-funding charity, we need people who want to make a difference and who have time to give. Those are our key requirements. The RSPCA is a nationally recognised charity which is made up of the Inspectors, animal centres, hospitals and branches like us. We can’t function without a committee of people who, via the role of trustee, are dedicated to securing the future of animals that live in our area.
