Celebrating ‘Volunteer’s week’ 1st – 7th June
It is not overstating things to say that without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to run our charity shops. Both are reliant on a merry band of folk who freely give up their time to help local animals. Our volunteers are THE BEST and we really do appreciate all their hard work.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, we have closed the branch office and our 2 shops in Eastwood and Hyson Green. However, we are beavering away behind the scenes to try and re-open as soon as we can safely do so.
That’s where you come in! When we re-open we are looking for more volunteers. Our biggest requirement is that you can give two references, one of which must be from someone who knows you in a professional capacity eg employment officer, a tutor or leader of a social group. The other ask is that you can commit to a regular slot, ie Thursday afternoons or Saturday mornings. By having a volunteer we can rely on means staff can plan ahead for shop change overs and there’s cover for holidays.
There are several roles to fill:
- Serving customers (full till training given)
- Sorting donations
- Steaming and cleaning items
So, what’s in it for you? Well, you get to meet and work with like minded people, volunteering gets you out into the community, looks great on your CV but best of all…you are directly helping local animals.
If this sounds of interest please have a look at our ‘Get involved’ page where you will find more details and an application form.
We look forward to hearing from you.
